I grew up in Seattle and now live about 40 miles south. We actually go to Portland for concerts or to fly anywhere, even though it's 2.5 hours away, because in the last 20 years Seattle's parking issues have become intolerable, and Sea-Tac airport has cemented it's status as the absolute worst of all the airports I have been in, in the US and Canada and Mexico.

I actually disagree about her points of Seattle public transportation is dope. It is really cheap. There are several types of bus to get around in the downtown area, the link from the Sea-tac airport is also dope and affordable. For one day unlimited rides for links and sounders Bus is cost $8, and you can buy it at the underground stations in downtown seattles or bus/train stations in the city around seattle. I actually don't recommend you to buy the Washington Metro's Card because it is expensive if you only stay here at seattle for few days, just buy the $8 daily pass. The other type of buses in downtown are metro kings, and Rapid line to get around. If your are 18 and under you only pay $1.50(but if you are a students and look young, you can pay $1.50 as well😁), for adults' price is $2.75 and ussually the driver will give you 2-3 hr pass for your next bus ride, and also keep in mind that it is only for king metro and rapid bus not for the sounders bus. Don't forget to smile and spread joy while you in Seattle-WA😊. Enjoy your time here

I'm a California transplant, too! I'll add my faves: Since getting inside the first-ever Starbucks is always so hard because of tourists, you can always go to the second-ever location in University Village. Caliburger, though tragically named, is supposedly a dupe for In-N-Out, in U-District. Love Portage Bay for brunch! If you ferry to Bainbridge, drive the extra 20 minutes to Poulsbo. If you're from SoCal, it's very much like Solvang, but on the water (noice!) If you're visiting during the winter, the drive to Leavenworth is worth it. It's a magical little Bavarian town, and they have snow tubes that go so fast you'll definitely feel like you are going to die. Enjoy! And if you're a Twin Peaks fan, it's fun to drive down to North Bend, which is Twin Peaks. Stay one night at the Salish Lodge in Snoqualmie while you're there (heavenly). You can also rent a cabin at Camp Long in the middle of West Seattle and feel like you're a million miles away right in the middle of the city. Happy you're here, Taylor!

Hey Taylor, this is an amazing video! I was born and raised outside the city my entire life so I will add a few things that weren't mentioned…

I love going to the International District (aka chinatown) for some good asian food and bubble tea (I recommend Oasis).

Also in Pioneer Square there is a bar called Flatstick Pub where you can drink and play indoor mini golf. Also downtown there is a place called sp1n and it is a ping pong bar that opens late at night. If people are willing to drive across the bridge, one of my favorite restaurants ever in Bellevue is Mox Boarding House which is a board game restaurant that has amazing food!

Don’t forget all the vegan places in the U District and places in U Village. Also great dim sum and other specialties in the international district. Excellent food and shopping in both areas. Seattle has so many theaters and live theater performances that we were second only to NYC. I’m not certain if that is still true, but plays, comedy troupes, performers of all types can be found all over Seattle.

My wife and I spent 10 days in Seattle 7/4/13 for our 20th anniversary. NO RAIN at all.
We loved it here! My wife cried on the plane home (Wis.).
One suggestion, how about showing us around as you as you do a voice-over narrative? That way we can see more without the talking head syndrome.
As first timers using only local buses, ferries, trains, walking (LOTS!), light rail etc. we covered a lot!
Pike Place and that whole area (Seattle Central Library- world class by Rem Koolhaas), West Seattle, Bainbridge Island, Billingham via Amtrak Cascades train along Puget Sound, Fremont (coffee!), chowder!, Washington State U. campus, NOT the "gum wall", lots of interesting shops, sidewalk cafe's, Chilhuly glass, Olympic Sculpture Park, Dr. Martens store (pilgrimage), and we realize we only scratched the surface!
    Thanks Seattle!

Seattle is a great foodie city! So many good restaurants. Then again you’ve only been here for 3 years. You missed the original Paseo, highly regarded and always a long line to find out they’re out of sandwiches. I’ve lived here for 14 years and grew up near Seattle for another 13 years.

Born and raised Seattle resident here :). Tons of great hiking and outdoor activities if you are in to that! Rent a car or do car to go for the day. Hop online to wta.org for hike locations and trip reports. My favs are Wallace falls, lake 22 and heybrook lookout. I would classify them as easy/moderate. Make sure to take water and the “ten essentials” and remember you’re in the wilderness :). Also drive to snoqualmie falls, amazing views. If you want a longer day trip or overnight, drive over to Leavenworth! I love ballard. Seattle is very laid back, like you said, most people do not go out to “club” and no one dresses up here haha. I loved this guide!
